Perchance

In utter innocence
I look to you
Rushing headlong
As if you will always be there
To break my fall.

Flowering face
In your cupped hands
As if time will stand right there
To see love stall

In fits and starts
Like waves in the sea
As if we are
What we always were

I show you this poem
Knowing,In trust we love
As if there is no more whatever,
To hear it as it was,   as ever.

To change in ways known
To grow away together
To know what will always be,
Never,
Even so, perchance, once more forever.
