Glittering Gemstones

Scrolling through perfect pictures
Of perfect jewels
laid out
For the perfect woman
I smile
as I finger my bare ears
They have carried their share
of bling in their time
Signalled gravitas
in pearls that came from brine
Shone red luscious
Rubies as bright as pomegranates
Dripping emeralds in
zircons atrocious
Pretending to be mine.

I am theirs.
For when they are donned
They claim a me that
denies the unadorned.

Glittery smiles bounce back
Reflected glory refracts
Gems collecting moments
That sparse memory retracts.
