Cupcake

All is right with the world
When the cupcake rises
A place for each proportion
And Everything in its place

The cook is in the kitchen
The cakes on the plate
The smiles have returned
And tidying up can wait

The moment may not last
Fleeting sugary ploy
But at least for that plateful
There’s gleefully shared joy

All the world’s a cupcake
I’d love to pontificate
But all I know is I want another
And cannot bear the wait!
